December 11: From 9AM to 3PM we are having our last fundraiser of the year, a Christmas Attic Sale. This sale will feature many new items including Antique Christmas decorations, old dolls, oil paintings, china, as well as assorted antique furniture including an early 20th century curved glass, high-end china cabinet. The sale is being held at:

December 11: The Friends of Valley Forge Park will participate in a Wreath Laying Ceremony at Valley Forge Park. 2000 Wreaths will be placed around the National Memorial Arch in commemoration of those who died at Valley Forge during the 1777-1778 encampment. The wreaths are scheduled to remain in place through the remainder of December. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, December 11 at 9AM at the National Memorial Arch to help place the wreaths. a 2 day event dedicated to celebrate the rich history of Montgomery County from pre-colonial times through to WWII as presented by many historical societies, social, military, patriotic, religious and cultural groups.
A fun and educational event. It’s free and everyone is invited!
From 9:00 AM to 5:PM & Sunday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Stanbridge Park Complex, 2501 Stanbridge St., East Norriton PA.

- Take 202 (DeKalb Pike) S to West Germantown Pike.
- Turn Right onto W. Germantown Pike
- Proceed approximately 1 1/2 miles to Stanbridge Street
- Take a Left at the the Stanbridge Street Traffic Light
- Proceed on Stanbridge to the Township Building on the Right

April 3 - The Preservation Alliance of Greater Philadelphia is having their 2010 Old House Fair on from 9 AM to 5 PM at the Germantown Friends School, 31 West Coulter St in Philadelphia. The fair will have over 70 vendors and an array of learning opportunities for owners of an old house to better maintain and restore their homes. General Admission is $10; $5 for members. March 21 - Tea with Martha 2:30 pm. The Historical Society of Montgomery County, Norristown. Carol Spacht as Martha Washington. Afternoon tea with Martha Washington as she reflects on her experiences at Valley Forge and relates events from her time as the " first" First Lady. Tea and sandwiches will be served. March 20 - ATTIC SALE: Just to let you know that we have an Attic Sale scheduled from 9AM to 3PM. Please mark your calendars and plan to come! If you can find some time in your schedules to help as volunteers that day please let me know.
March 8 - Our first meeting of the year will be at the Wissahickon Library in Blue Bell. We will be holding a combined meeting with the Wissahickon Valley Historical Society and will have a program of songs by Bill Ridenhour. Mark your calendars and plan to attend!

Rededication of the Franklinville School:
September 21, 2008. 150 years after the opening of the Franklinville School, the Historical Society of Whitpain hereby rededicated the Franklinville School to the entire community, especially to our children, teachers and future generations to come, for their education and use.
