I want to inform all the members of the Historical Society of Whitpain about a public forum sponsored by the Whitpain Residents Association (WRO) dealing with the future location of the Second Alarmers Squad (SRO) to be held at the Whitpain Township Building, Meeting Room A, Monday April 11, 2011 at 7:30 PM. The public is invited.
Whitpain Township has announced that SARS will build a new EMS station on Township property at the intersection of Cathcart and Skippack Pike, on the edge of Wentz Run Park.
As you know our Society’s Headquarters at Boxwood House are located at this location. The SARS complex will be somewhere across the drive from Boxwood. The actual size, location and building plans for the SARs complex have not as yet been finalized. How this new complex will interface with the Boxwood property, our parking lot and the surrounding area is not defined. Its’ impact upon our ability, as a Society, to access Boxwood is uncertain.
If you have any questions, problems or concerns about this SARs complex and how it relates to and fits into the planned surroundings I urge you to attend this meeting. I also urge you to inform anyone you know who might be interested in this issue to attend.
I would direct you to the WRO’s notice announcing the public forum which also shows a map of location of the planned SRO complex and a link to the SRO Project Prospectus at their website: www.WhitpainResidents.org. If you have any questions please e-mail them at: contact@whitpainresidents.org. WRO is a volunteer organization dedicated to informing the citizens of Whitpain Township about what is happening in their community and is free to join.

Hope to see you all at the meeting. Best Wishes,
Herman
